Grand Coney Shift Manager

As an assistant to the General Manager, you will help with the overall administration of the restaurant including, but not limited to: product ordering, interviewing, orientations, training, scheduling, maintaining records, product ordering, inventory, social media interactions, etc…Throughout the shift, you will generally oversee a team of 6-12 employees, consisting of both front of house and kitchen staff.​

Your duties will be to:

  • Conduct great pre-shift meetings

  • Perform thorough walk-throughs and making corrections where needed.

  • Utilize restaurant tools and checklists to allow for top notch, consistent operations.

  • Maintain a presence during the shift, walking the floor and attending to areas of need, ensuring great service and great food.

  • Greeting guests during periods without a host/hostess

  • Work, at times, in task oriented positions including expediting and in the kitchen.

  • Assisting kitchen team where and when needed, including running portions, or all, of your shift from the back of the house if necessary.

  • Perform basic administrative duties including cash control and record keeping

This position is a salaried position based on a 50 hour schedule and includes 2 weeks paid vacation in your first year, additional personal time off/sick days as well as health care benefits. Third shift manager salary starts at $50k.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years management experience in the hospitality/food service industry with the confidence, potential and desire to become a future Restaurant General Manager preferred.

  • Excellent training and teaching abilities

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills

  • At least 6 months experience in back of house operations is preferred, but a willingness to learn and perform these duties is required.

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel and email.

  • Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
